"We are very pleased with the XR400, " says Peter Sanderson, general manager at Nottinghamshire Recycling. "To date we have produced about 3000 tonnes with the XR400 - though the machine is not yet working full time, but the early signs are it is definitely the tool for the job."
The XR400 is suited to recycling on primary applications. The hydraulic release jaw crusher fitted to this plant will sense an overload and open when required to protect the crusher against serious damage when uncrushable materials up to 200 mm3 enter the crushing chamber. Good access under the crusher and power pack is further improved when the conveyor is lowered at the push of a button. This enables the operator to clear blockages that can occur on recycling without the need to frequently handle the material.
"Having previously run crushers the XR400 was a new machine for a new venture. Having looked at the market and the Terex Pegson came out the best, it's an excellent machine all round." Given the arduous nature of the work performed by crushers and the investment in the machine required, a guaranteed service back up was the crucial point for Nottinghamshire Recycling. "Powerscreen Pegson and the backup service they provide have been fantastic," says Peter. "We were looking for good service backup and Powerscreen Pegson provide that at a phone call," he said.
